Looking forward to part 2. I read Avi Shlaim’s autobiography last year on his experiences of growing in Baghdad and the dislocations he felt moving to Israel. Also a subscriber to Alon Mizrahi’s Substack.
It’s called “Three Worlds: The Memoirs of an Arab Jew”. Easily available in paperback. An enlightening personal account of a Jewish family rooted in Baghdad, integrated with the Muslim and Christian communities there, and the dislocations brought about by the zionist project. How the move to Israel affected the family financially and emotionally.
Thanks alot, appreciate the comment and very happy to share this. I hope to have part II out soon as well. It started out as one article, have a feeling will need 3 or more. Always fun to dig up more material, and the idea for this one actually came from one of you guys. The Autobiography of Avi Shlaim, whats the name and was it good?

Everything you have written is nonsense. Why are all you Islamists and pro-Islamists such ignorant mentally ill fantasists? It's uncanny.
