Connecting Communities Through Values One World, One Family! | Global Values Alliance

As a second-generation immigrant in Norway, I've always cherished the connection to both my Pakistani roots and Norwegian home, bridging the gap between cultures and communities. My unexpected journey to the USA for higher education, thanks to Dr. Robert Kaplan's recruitment, led me to discover my true passion in Political Science (IR) after initially enrolling in computer engineering. Equipped with a BA and MBA, I returned to Norway, eager for new challenges.

Steering towards a more fulfilling path, I delved into NGOs, eventually becoming the first General Secretary of the Islamic Council of Norway. There, I worked tirelessly for freedom of religion and speech, interreligious dialogue, and encouraging religious organizations to engage with society—essential elements of a democratic and tolerant society.

Subsequently, my focus turned to politics, where I joined the Norwegian Greens to work towards a more sustainable future, tackling environmental issues, the climate crisis, biodiversity, and their connection with international politics. My dedication to social issues intertwines with my fight for climate justice, especially for vulnerable communities affected by climate change.

On this page, you'll find texts covering these issues and more, as I believe they are interconnected and part of the same collective effort. Diversity enriches our perspectives and empowers us to build a united, sustainable, and just future. As I navigate the complexities of international affairs, my commitment remains unwavering: fostering dialogue, understanding, and collaboration to create an equitable and resilient world for generations to come.
