The recent U.S. strike on Iran supporting Israel in its illegal war against Teheran surprised people around the world. Not only was it launched without Congress’s approval, raising serious questions under U.S. law, but it also flew in the face of international rules against unprovoked attacks. And the way it was announced, with brash excitement, only deepened concerns about raw power over rule of law.
As Senator Chris Murphy put it, “Donald Trump, a weak and dangerously reckless president, has put the United States on a path to a war in the Middle East that the country does not want, the law does not allow, and our security does not demand.“
But timing matter, we have to ask, why now? One clue comes from Elon Musk’s tweet after his public falling-out with Donald Trump, in which Musk claimed Trump’s name appeared in Jeffrey Epstein’s files. That hint points us toward a darker possible backstory. Because we dont know what lies behind this, but some pictures do emerge.
Who was Jeffrey Epstein?
Jeffrey Epstein was a wealthy financier convicted of sex crimes involving underage girls. He ran a network of abuse that drew in business leaders, politicians and royalty, and yet he evaded real accountability for years. Investigators and journalists have long speculated he wasn’t just a criminal but also an intelligence asset, using sex and secrets as a “honey trap” to collect compromising material on powerful figures.
Multiple former Israeli intelligence officers have told media outlets that Epstein may have worked for Mossad to gather blackmail material. While definitive proof remains elusive, publications like TRT World report strong circumstantial evidence, and note Epstein’s close ties to ex-Prime Minister Ehud Barak and other Israeli defence interests.
The Mossad connections
Alan Dershowitz, Trump’s personal lawyer, also handled Epstein’s legal defence. A confidential U.S. intelligence memo later flagged Dershowitz himself as someone with possible Mossad links, suggesting Epstein was viewed within some circles as an Israeli asset . Epstein’s own brother, speaking on Spotify’s PBD Podcast (Ep. 434), added that their mentor’s contacts with Israeli intelligence went beyond chance, a claim that, if true, would explain how Epstein slipped through so many legal cracks.
The way things have happened makes the theory about Mossad and blackmail seem more likely. But it might not be the whole story. There could be other reasons, like powerful people fighting behind the scenes, secret business deals, or even personal grudges. We don’t know yet. What’s clear is that the American people have the right to find out. It shouldn’t be left to rumours or guesses. Journalists, politicians and the public need to keep asking hard questions until the truth comes out.
Why It matters
If Trump, or any leader, was named in Epstein’s “little black book,” that leader could have been under silent threat. Blackmail at this level isn’t about personal embarrassment. It’s about bending powerful people to hidden agendas. Imagine a president coerced into military action not for national security but to serve the interests of whoever holds the damning evidence.
For years, many of us have watched the steady erosion of the rules meant to keep governments honest. We’ve seen executive orders bypass parliaments, secret deals override justice, and public debate drowned out by spectacle. This strike on Iran isn’t an isolated incident, it’s just the clearest example yet of a long-running slide toward unrestrained authority and hidden influence.
The reckoning
When leaders lean on blackmail and brute force instead of open debate and fair rules, they build on a shaky foundation. At first, it may work, secrets keep people in line, and threats speed up decisions. But this power won’t last. Allies will start to worry they’ll be next, and soon no one can trust each other. That fear spreads, making every choice and promise suspect.
And people do notice when their leaders betray the rules. Citizens expect laws to be followed, judges expect justice, and allies expect honesty. When those expectations collapse, systems begin to shake. Courts dig in. Legislatures push back. Whistle-blowers come forward.
We’re already seeing this unfold. In the U.S., there are signs of resistance. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called for impeachment, potentially the first tremor in a larger reckoning. People are angry. Especially those who supported Trump because they opposed war. That betrayal won’t be forgotten. Protests will likely grow. Investigations may follow.
History is full of rulers who used secrets and fear to stay in power, only to be toppled when truth caught up. In the end, strength built on threats and lies doesn’t last. It doesn’t bring peace. It only brings collapse.
Real leadership requires honesty. And real power must answer to the people.
